1.Fear was the first manifestation of man’s separation from God.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day,

And they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

But the Lord God called to the man,

“Where are you?”

He answered, “I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

2. People hate because they are fearful.

“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

“Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God Himself will fight for you.”

“Have not I commanded you?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Right relationship with God, then, no fear!

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”

“Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.”

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear,

But you received the Spirit of Sonship.

And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades!’”

3.The Love of God is not nearly so fragile as we think it is!

It is imperative that we frame our beliefs about our relationship with God from what is written in the New Testament!

The ability to overcome fear and to rise above sin comes from the assurance that God loves us and that we have His favor.

“Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.”

We have favor before we know we have favor!

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be the sons of your Father in Heaven…

Favor (acceptance) to the undeserving.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall (1) trouble or (2) hardship or (3) persecution or (4) famine or (5) nakedness or (6) danger or (7) sword?

As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither (8) deathnor (9) life, neither (10) angels nor (11) demons, neither the (12) present nor the (13) future,

Nor any (14) powers, neither (15) height nor (16) depth, nor (17) anything else in all creation,

Will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind!
