Clarify your expectations
In every relationship, you have expectations
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
"It is entirely natural and healthy to dream big things for your husband, but that's very different from selfishly demanding those things. When you dream something in a positive way, you offer yourself to God as an instrument of love, change, and spiritual transformation. When you demand that someone change for your sake, you're literally trying to bend the world around your comfort, your needs, and your happiness. That's pride, arrogance, and self-centeredness - and God will never bless that."
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Be a safe place
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Listening not fixing
Vulnerability not perfection
Confidentiality not conversation
Partnering not judging
10 Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
Trust that Jesus is at work
1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, 6 that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
