Transportation Technician I
MUST DO
- Performs or assists with daily maintenance, repair, and safety inspections of all ministry-owned vehicles and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs or assists with safety and service inspections, routine system diagnosis, and basic maintenance or repairs of all ministry-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Performs scheduled safety inspections and routine troubleshooting of all vehicles in the fleet.
- Responsible for weekly cleaning, detailing, fueling, and road testing of vehicles and equipment, ensuring that vehicle interiors and exteriors are always clean and operational.
- Ability to assist in performance Inspection of main engine, fuel system, and engine diagnosis.
- Ability to assist in the inspection and problem diagnosis of suspension, steering, power assist, and alignment systems.
- Ability to assist with maintenance, repair, and diagnoses of brake systems, including hydraulic systems.
- Perform road tests on vehicles for quality control purposes.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- May be required to drive passengers over a scheduled route as needed for special events or during staff shortages.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to assist in inspection, diagnosis, and maintenance of buses and vehicles and various types of associated equipment and sub-systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Able to work in a variety of elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- Ability to carry, push, pull, reach overhead, walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach away from body, and lift 50 pounds
- Self-motivated and capable of working alone with little supervision
- Uphold a stewardship mindset with the time and resources you have
- Ability to solve problems and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Possible availability when needed to attend away LCS athletic sanctioned events

- You hold an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification

WORK SCHEDULE

- 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Some weekends and on-call required
