Mission Partner Highlight: Caminodevida Church – Peru

When God brings two churches together with a shared vision, the impact reaches far beyond borders. That’s the story of our partnership with Caminodevida in Lima, Peru—a relationship built on friendship, discipleship, and a passion for seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.
Since the beginning, this partnership has been about more than trips; it’s about joining what God is already doing in South America.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
Psalm 133:1

How It All Began

Our connection with caminodevida started through relationships and shared mission. Caminodevida’s Founding Pastor, Robert Barriger, attended Church on the Move Founding Pastor Willie George’s conferences back in the early 2000s and discovered a common heartbeat: strengthening the local church and reaching the next generation.

From that moment, a partnership was born—one that has continued through the current lead pastors of both churches, Taylor Barriger and Whit George.

Caminodevida is a vibrant, influential church in Lima, committed to bringing hope to Peru through practical service and the Gospel. Their vision aligns well with ours: to love people well and point them to Jesus. Together, we’ve seen God move in powerful ways, and every trip reminds us that His mission is unstoppable.

What Happens When We Serve Together

Every trip to Peru is unique because caminodevida tailors the work to the team that comes down. Their heart is to maximize impact while creating opportunities for meaningful connection and discipleship.

When Church on the Move teams join caminodevida, we step into a rhythm of service that reflects God’s love in practical ways:

Each of these efforts is designed to empower local churches and serve families in tangible ways, opening doors for the Gospel and building bridges of hope.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

Discipleship Beyond the Outreach

Caminodevida emphasizes that mission trips create mutual transformation. Our teams don’t just serve—they learn, grow, and return home changed. As Pastor Taylor said, these trips create space for God to stretch us beyond our comfort zones, opening our eyes to His creativity and power in new contexts.

For caminodevida, the partnership means more than extra hands—it’s about shared vision and encouragement. Together, we’re building relationships that last, strengthening leaders, and equipping the local church to keep reaching Peru long after we leave.

Why Missions Matter in Peru

Missions is about joining God’s one story. Trips like Peru help us break out of our bubbles and experience God in new ways. “Sometimes it takes getting out of our comfort zone—even out of our own culture—to experience Him in a new way. It changes us personally.”

“We come alongside what God is already doing,” he said, “And when we do, we can’t help but be changed—just like the team members who return home with a renewed sense of purpose and a more profound love for the global Church.”
From medical clinics that restore dignity to families, to leadership development that strengthens the local church, the testimonies are powerful. Every trip is a reminder that God’s mission is bigger than borders—and that when we serve together, lives are changed on both sides.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”
Ephesians 3:20

As we look toward future opportunities in our partnership with caminodevida—expanding medical clinics, building more homes, and continuing to empower local churches—we know this truth: when we join what God is already doing, He does immeasurably more than we could imagine. The best is yet to come!
