Ruth
Teachings series begins May 11-12
It’s easy to approach the book of Ruth like a Hallmark movie—a feel good, romance that, while fun to read, offers no real benefit to your life. But to read this story as a love story is to miss the full picture of God’s faithfulness in horrific tragedy and how our obedience to Him impacts far more than just our stories.
These seemingly mundane events are woven into God’s grand story of redemption for the whole world. And so, the book of Ruth invites us to see how God might be at work in the seemingly ordinary and mundane details of our lives as well.

Meet the Characters
The story of Ruth shows the partnership of God’s purpose and our human decisions. Surprisingly though, God is hardly mentioned in the story. Instead, He shows up in seemingly ordinary providence, what some would describe as the “just so happened” moments in the lives of an outsider, a grieving mother, and an ordinary farmer.
